In reference to your inquiry, as you can see in the link below for the comparison chart, one of the main difference between the Intel® Wireless cards is the form factor, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 is available as a desktop kit with its own PCIe adapter and the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 came as an integration and customization done on a laptop by the manufacturer of it.

Based on that, what is the model of the computers that you are using, is it a Desktop PC or laptops?
Is there a problem with the Wireless connection on the platform that you are working with?
